Sunrise of Johns Creek

What a rainy day!!  Our hair, clothes, and instrument cases got wet during the rush from our cars to the building, but our time at Sunrise of Johns Creek was the perfect rainbow to our day.

We enjoyed our second performance of the year, performing for senior citizens at Sunrise of Johns Creek.

It was great catching up with our friends at Sunrise, as this was our first performance at Sunrise for the 2013-2014 school year.

This was some of our members' first performance, and it's no surprise that they loved it.
The senior citizens are so incredibly sweet, and it brings us so much joy to talk with them and let them know that we appreciate their company.

Here's a photo from our performance!

And Janet was able to capture a sweet moment of Grace and Poyoung with their new friends following the performance:

We cannot wait for our next visit to the Cohen Home on October 5!

Until then! :)

First Performance of the 2013-2014 Season!

At the Benton House...

Sunshine and beautiful weather weren't the only things that brightened our day today...

We are thrilled to have finally officially restarted the Notes of Joy season for this upcoming year!

With our first rehearsal only a few weeks ago, we all anticipated this day and were ready to perform for the senior citizens at the Benton House.

As always, it was so rewarding to see so many familiar and new faces in the audience.

Although many factors, such as the supportive audience and joy from music, remained the same, this first performance felt slightly different from the ones last year.

First of all, we added several fun, new pieces to our repertoire this year, such as "Cancion del Amor," "Bluegrass Country,"  and "Arkansas Traveler."

Secondly, the composition of the ensemble was different.  Although we said goodbye to many of our beloved members who graduated last year, it was so exciting to perform together with a new group.

From the picture above, you may be able to recognize a few familiar faces, but others not.
I am so excited about our new members, and I can already tell that they are equally thrilled to serve the community using their passion and talents!

The senior citizens appreciate their company so much, and I can't wait for our new members to experience this mutual feeling of joy throughout the year with more performances and interactions.

Because we did not have any parents who could take pictures for us during our time at the Benton House, we were unable to take as many pictures of everything in action, but we are still thankful for the shots that we were able to capture!

Warming up before the performance

Warming up some more...

Gabby talking with our new friend and his sweet daughter!

Happy Mariana, Marlie, Lauren, and Yebin!

I also had the pleasure of meeting our new friend, Joe, after the performance!

Our next performance will be at Sunrise of Johns Creek next Saturday, September 21, at 2:00 PM!

Until then! :)
